ICYMI: The Kimi Playground: Your faster way to iterate and test

Kimi Open Platform,2 min read

Hi Developers,

We know you're busy building, but we wanted to share a quick heads-up in case you haven't had a chance to explore the Kimi Playground recently.

Think of it as your personal AI workbench. We've designed it to be the shortest path between having an idea and shipping a polished feature. If you've been debugging prompts manually in your code, this might just save you hours of trial and error.

A few things you can do in the Playground (opens in a new tab) today:

Compare 3 Models at Once: Not sure which model fits your use case? You can now open up to three simultaneous conversations to compare outputs and parameters side-by-side.

Bring Your Data with MCP: We now support Model Context Protocol (MCP). You can connect Kimi to your own local or remote tools and data sources to see how the model interacts with your specific environment.

Test-Drive Tool Calling: Use Kimi's built-in tools or test your own custom functions visually. It's the easiest way to ensure your agentic workflows are behaving exactly as expected.

Watch the Bottom Line: We've added real-time token usage monitoring, so you can optimize your prompts for both performance and cost-efficiency as you iterate.

Precision Tuning: Beyond just chatting, you can fine-tune temperature and top_p on the fly to find the perfect "personality" for your application.

Ready to speed up your workflow? You can find the Playground right in the top navigation bar of our developer platform. It's a great place to debug your Kimi API calls, experiment with new prompts, and see what works best for your application.
